How it’s calculated

Simple math you can check.

The formula

Missed calls per week × 52 ÷ 12 gives missed calls per month. Multiply by the share that are potential new customers, then by the share who would have booked, to estimate new customers missed per month. Multiply that by the value of a typical first job for revenue at risk per month, and by 12 for a year.

What it leaves out

It counts first visits only, not repeat business or referrals, which can matter more over time. It also can’t know which callers would have chosen you anyway. Treat the result as a way to size the problem, not as a forecast.
